The responsibility for authorities to use discretion is crucial for a juvenile’s future. With adults, less discretion could be used because they have a greater sense of morals. In today’s society I have personally seen adults expect leniency just because, for example, they have a police organization bumper sticker. Enforcing the law for adults who are habitual offenders is necessary to uphold order. One can only push society and the law so far; at some point you must face the consequences. As we talked about in class, the 3-strike rule is a fair method of deciding who should be held accountable. â€Å"Three major studies were commissioned to examine police practices in detail and to update the 1931 Wickersham commission report (National Commission on Law Observance and Enforcement, 1971). These include the report of the President’s Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice (1967) entitled The Challenge of Crime in a Free Society (1967), a report of the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders (1968), and a report of the National Advisory Commission on Criminal Justice Standards and Goals (1973). Each of these commissions was a major undertaking by a large number of scholars and practitioners who focused on solving some of the problems in both policing and the criminal justice system as a whole. Unsuccessfully, Spain was defeated. Spanish clothing today, is much similar to America's fashions and trends. Trends in the U.S. probably won't reach Europe until next year, or the other way around. Speaking of time differences, there is a nine-hour difference from California's Pacific Standard Time. And, the time frame from which they eat dinner, and close their businesses is about a 2 or 3 hour difference from our time frame. Spain celebrates a few different holidays than Americans do. They celebrate "The Annunciation Day," which is celebrated on March 25th, and it's when Mary was told that she would give to the Son of God. Another holiday that is celebrated is "Three Kings Day," which is when they celebrate the coming of the three kings. They don't celebrate Christmas. Three Kings Day is like Christmas to them, they receive gifts, and go to the kings to ask them what they want for Three Kings Day, just like we ask Santa Claus for Christmas. It is celebrated on January 5th & 6th. Spanish foods include boar: it's a salty ham, and it's served in paper thin slices; they eat a lot of fish they eat lots of fruit, and a lot of organic foods. Living conditions in Spain are very warm and most rainfall proceeds in Northern Spain. Their architecture, new and organic, is very unique in its structure and texture. Spanish entertainment and recreation i.e. festivals & bullfighting. Festivals always begin with a mass and are followed by music, dancing, poetry, and singing. If you cant laugh at yourself and be with others in laughter, you really cannot create meaningful social change. A â€Å"prefix† is a group of letters placed at the start of a word to change its meaning. We can even see how this works using the word â€Å"prefix† itself, which is a combination of â€Å"pre-† and â€Å"fix†: â€Å"Pre-† is a prefix meaning â€Å"before† or â€Å"in front of.† â€Å"Fix† is a verb meaning â€Å"attach.† Combined, then, the word â€Å"prefix† indicates something we â€Å"attach† to the start of a word. There are many different prefixes in English.
